George Little Butler was born on July 8, 1910, in Grimes County, Texas. He was the son of John Malcolm Butler and Mary Catherine Little Miller. He was married to Ouida Lynn Petty Swope.
He served in the 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Division as a Lieutenant Commander during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
