Edward Robert Cherock was born on November 9, 1922. He was the son of Paul Cherock and
Mary Victoria Piper Cherock.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Corporal during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
