Raymond Leopold Dunst was born on December 14, 1920, in Erie County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Lawrence Dunst Sr. and Anna Grach Dunst.
He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
