Theodore William Elsen was born on February 11, 1921, in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho. He was the son of Jacob Theodore "Ted" Elsen and Alice Sturman Navarro.
He served in Company B, 2nd Separate Engineer Batallion, United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 2, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
