Herbert Woodson Fleenor was born on May 21, 1925, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was the son of Herbert William Fleenor and Martha Ora Austin Hart.
He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 23, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
