Willie Boyd Freeman Jr. was born on October 26, 1922. He was the son of Willie Boyd Freeman Sr. and Bertha Jane Haley Freeman.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
