Ernest Anton Genthon was born on December 23, 1912, in Missouri. He was the son of John Edward Genthon and Julia Lillie Pompe Genthon.
He served in Company I, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 24, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
