Richard Neal “Dickey” Holtzman was born on September 29, 1924, in Thayer, Neosho County, Kansas. He was the son of Ralph Waldo Holtzman and Hazel Hope Holtzman.
He served in Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
