Rudolph Carl “Rudy” Jellesma was born on April 20, 1923, in Corson County, South Dakota. He was the son of Rudolph Joseph Jellesma and Rosa Neva Carlson Andrus. He was married to Betty Jean Neely.
He served in the Signal Company, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
