Kenneth Karl Kean was born in 1922, in Albany, Linn County, Oregon. He was the son of Carl Henry Kean and Erma Claire Gillespie Kean.
He served in Company F, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. Richard was reported Missing in Action, and died from his wounds received in battle on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam, and was buried at sea.
