Edwin Kienzle was born on July 10, 11918, in North Dakota. He was the son of Jacob Kienzle and Fredericka Schnabel Kienzle. He was married to Esther Kaufman Kienzle.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Gunnery Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
