Harold Robert Kilmer was born on September 18, 1924, in New York. He was the son of Homer Wilson Kilmer and Helen May O'Dell Kilmer.
He served in Company A, 1st Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
