Fred G. Klinger was born on March 13, 1914. He was the son of Penrose Emanuel Klinger and Ida Amelia Kratzer Klinger. He served in Company G, 307th Infantry Regiment, 77th Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 3, 1944, when hit by a sniper's bullet, during the Battle for Guam.
