De Loss Ira Klopp was born on August 7, 1908. He was the son of Bert I. Klopp and Mabel Klopp.

He served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam. His family requests during his memorial services, instead of sending flowers, they may contribute to a fund known as the DeLoss Klopp Memorial Fund, which is to be used toward the welfare of unprivileged boys.
