Lawson Guytus Knotts was born on February 16, 1924. He was the son of Elisha A. Knotts and Nila Fallaw Knotts.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
