Leeroy Collis Macon was born on August 22, 1925, in De Leon, Comanche County, Texas. He was the son of Lillian Castleberry "Doc" Macon and Edward Jernigan Macon.
He served in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
