Ray Edward McKay was born on January 21, 1924, in Unionville, Putnam County, Missouri. He was the son of Belva Earl McKay and Ruth Elizabeth Greer Parrish.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on July 23, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
