Marshall Hayward Miller was born on December 24, 1924. He was the son of George W. Miller and Margaret E. "Maggie" Arthur Miller.
He served in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
