Marion Herbert Pace was born on August 14, 1923, in North Carolina. He was the son of William Arthur Pace and Ida L. Coggins Pace.
He served in Company A, 306th Infantry Regiment, 77th Division as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 10, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
