Frederick Nelson Pitcher was born on April 6, 1923, in Gerritsen Beach, Kings County, New York. He was the son of Katherine L. Pitcher and Frederick G. Pitcher.
He served in Company B, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
