Verol Lawrence Reger was born on March 24, 1918, in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. He was the son of Joseph John Reger and Lodama Barbara Bald Reger. He was the husband of Mary Frances Larzelere Moose.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 31, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
