Comments:

Allen Eugene Rolette was born on December 27, 1923, in Montana. He was the son of Edward C. Rolette and Mabel Elsie Melberg Rolette.

He served in the Prisoners of War and Military Police Detachment Headquarters, United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class during World War II. According to his buddy, Allen and his friend were in an Alligator tractor boat that was struck by a Japanese shell offshore when the first wave of Marines of the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade were landing. The motor was blown off the Alligator boat and it was a helpless target offshore.

The ship was abandoned and loaded with supplies, the men started to make their way to shore in three feet of water. The region meanwhile was heavily shelled and only his buddy was the only one of the trio who made it. He was declared Missing in Action on July 24, 1944, and then declared dead on July 25, 1945. His body was never recovered.
