Peter Salvator Russo was born on February 8, 1923. He was the son of Joseph David "Pappa Joe" Russo Sr. and Caroline Corrado Russo.
He served in Battery A, 2nd Pack Howitzer Battalion, 22nd Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Corporal during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 23, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
