Grover Durrel Sapp was born on December 18, 1921, in Georgia. He was the son of Grover Cleveland Sapp and Annie L. Phillips Sapp.
He served in Company F, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Corporal during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 25, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
