Irwin George Saville was born on March 26, 1923, in Orchard Park, Erie County, New York. He was the son of Harry I. Saville and Edith E. Maul Saville.
He served in Company A, 1st Armored Amphibian Battalion, 3rd Amphibious Corps as a Sergeant during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam. Irwin also has a cenotaph in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Orchard Park, New York with his parents.
