Ralph Wright Sheaks was born on April 11, 1916, in Greenup, Cumberland County, Illinois. He was the son of Claude I. Sheaks and Lena Marie Wright Sheaks.
He served in the Headquarters and Service Company, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Master Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 10, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
