William Alfred Shellhorn was born on March 4, 1921, in Menominee, Menominee County, Michigan. He was the son of William Theodore Shellhorn and Agnes Uecke Shellhorn.
He served in Company A, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
