John Stewart was born on September 17, 1921. He was the son of Ralston Stewart and Catherine Nimmo Stewart. He was the husband of Lillian M. Dean Beeman.
He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 21, 1945, during the Battle for Guam.
