John David Stocks was born on September 3, 1920. He was the son of David Andrew Stocks and Clara Burton Stocks. He was married to Mary Lorene Wright Stocks.
He served in Company A, 11th Amphibian Tractor Battalion, 3rd Amphibious Corps as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
