He served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. he was declared Missing in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam. He has a cenotaph in Paris Cemetery, Paris, Bear Lake County, Idaho, USA.
