William Taylor Wattenbarger Jr. was born on March 3, 1924, in California. He was the son of William Taylor Wattenbarger Sr. and Cora Birdie Stanton Wattenbarger.
He served in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 26, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
