Douglas Vander “Doug” Weatherman was born on April 27, 1922, in Apache, Caddo County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Lecompton Weatherman and Effie Cordelia Hensley Weatherman.
He served in the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
