Nicholas Alonzo White Jr. was born on October 22, 1924, in Winnsboro, Fairfield County, South Carolina. He was the son of Nicholas Alonzo White and Vilate Currie White.

He served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was reported Missing in Action and ultimately declared dead on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam. He has a cenotaph in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA.
