William Henry Womack Jr. was born on October 4, 1924, in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas. He was the son of Willie H. Womack and Ruth A. Roddy Womack.

He served in the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
