Rudolf Louis Ziegler was born on February 24, 1915, in Louisiana. He was the son of Frederick William Ziegler Sr. and Barbara Hoffman Ziegler.
He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a Corporal during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
