Albert Donald Lutes was born on November 26, 1925, in Alpena Township, Alpena County, Michigan. He was the son of Stanley Justin Lutes Sr. and Flossie Mabel Thompson Lutes.
He served in the 93rd Bomber Squadron, 19th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Corporal and position gunner of B-29-25-MO Superfortress #42-65310 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on March 10, 1945, when the aircraft made a navigational error and crashed into Mt. Fubo.
