James Allison served in Company K, 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 12, 1944, during the Liberation of Saint-Malo in France. He was buried at Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
