Alfred N. Ehrlich was born on August 20, 1909, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Bernard Ehrlich and Rosa Fleischaker Ehrlich. He served in Company K, 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 12, 1944, during the Liberation of Saint-Malo in France. Pvt. Ehrlich was buried at Acacia Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, Norwood Park Township, Cook County, Illinois, USA, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
