Emmett Ray Mosley was born on May 30, 1925, in Princess Anne, Virginia Beach City, Virginia. He was the son of William Henry Mosley and Mattie Lee Murphy Mosley.
Emmett Mosley attended Charity High School and entered the service on September 9, 1943. He served in Company K, 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. Pvt. Mosley was Killed in Action on August 12, 1944, during the Liberation of Saint-Malo in France. He was buried at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach City, Virginia, USA, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
