Ross L. Kahler was born on July 13, 1914, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Leroy B. Kahler and Lillian I. Kahler.
He served in the 369th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Technical Sergeant and a radio operator on a B-17G "Susan Ruth" #42-31499 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 8, 1944, when his plane was attacked by two German ME 109s and was shot down and crashed near Macquenoise, Belgium. TSgt. Kahler is now buried in the Mount Peace Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA.
