Henry Harrison Milton Jr. was born on December 3, 1920, in Wake County, North Carolina. He was the son of Henry Harrison Milton Sr. and Annie Smith Milton. He was the husband of Clara Boone Silberhorn.

Henry served in Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. Sgt Milton was Killed in Action on June 13, 1944, during the Battle of the Moulin des Rondelles in France. Harrison's headstone has an error listing the death date as June 18. He was buried at Suncrest Cemetery, Monroe, Union County, North Carolina, USA, and was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
