Lloyd Irvin Naugle Jr. was born on March 13, 1917, in Cramer, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Lloyd I. Naugle and Eva Ressler Naugle. Lloyd worked as a structural and ornamental metal worker before enlisting in the U.S. Army on January 23, 1941, at Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Naugle served in Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 14, 1944, during the Battle of the Moulin des Rondelles in France. SSgt Naugle was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on February 13, 1948.
