David Clyde Peterson was born on August 31, 1917, in McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Clyde Benjamin Peterson and Mary Anne Farmer Peterson. He was a graduate of St Peter's High School and a former employee of the National Tube Company. He enlisted in the service on December 23, 1940.
David served in Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, during a beachhead operation in France. PFC Peterson was buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA.
