Alfred Felix Py Jr. was born on October 2, 1918, in New York, New York County, New York. He was the son of Alfred Py Sr. and Jeanne Blanche Bretagne Py. He enlisted in the service on January 10, 1941.
Alfred served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Second Lieutenant and a Platoon Leader during World War II. 2Lt Py was Killed in Action on June 13, 1944, during the Battle of the Moulin des Rondelles in France. He was buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
