Allison Tripp Bliss was born on November 2, 1921, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Walter Kempton Bliss and Bertha Searle Brighty Bliss.
Bliss served in the 507th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Private and a Paratrooper during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1942, during the Battle of Graignes in France. Pvt Bliss was buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
