George A. Brown was born on April 11, 1919, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He was the son of Clara Brown. He served in the 81st Anti-Aircraft Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Brown was Killed in Action on June 22, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. He was buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
