Kenneth B. Gunning was born in 1920, in Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a Semi-skilled mechanic before enlisting in the service on September 9, 1941. He served in the 507th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. Sgt Gunning was Killed in Action on June 11, 1941, during the Battle of Graignes in France. He was buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and was awarded the Purple Heart.
