Willard John Lucas was born on November 21, 1921, in Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Charles W. Lucas and Carrie May Kukuk Lucas. He was the husband of Marion Shuey. They had a child namely Rose Ann Lucas Dyszel. He attended Gordon Schools and was employed as a miner before entering the service on May 27, 1942.
Willard served in the 507th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Corporal during World War II. Cpl Lucas was Killed in Action on June 11, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. He is now buried in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA.
