Lacy H. Reaves was born in 1921 in North Carolina. He was the son of William Thomas Reaves and Lula Mather McCorquodale Reaves.

Lacy served in the 507th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 11, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. PFC Reaves is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery and was awarded the Purple Heart.
