Peter Sass was born on June 3, 1922, in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Charles Sass and Helen Wister Sass. Peter had attended Allentown High School.
Peter served in Company B, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. Pvt Sass is now buried in Saint Michael and Saint Andrew Byzantine Cemetery, Fullerton, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
